About the Picture Magic Visual Resources

Judy Will: Developer of Picture Magic
Judy Will: Developer of Picture Magic

The Picture Magic resources were first introduced into schools and kindergartens in 2006 and are now being used throughout Australia.

The Picture Magic resources are based on Judy's strong belief that asking GREAT questions is fundamental to developing children's thinking and learning. Judy is an experienced teacher and is well known for her 'I WONDER' approach to asking GREAT questions.

The Picture Magic resources evolved through Judy's combined love of teaching and photography. Judy says her interest in photography enabled her to view the world from an exciting new perspective. She was astounded at her own learning of the world around her: the excitement she felt and the simplicity of what inspired her.  It was her own excitement for learning that was clearly the catalyst for the development of the resources and a huge reminder of how important it is to help children discover their own interests and passion for learning.

The Picture Magic resources are inquiry based and offer engaging tools for...

  • Asking rich questions
  • Sparking conversation
  • Developing new and creative thinking
  • Encouraging curiosity and a sense of wonder.

Judy's aim is to inspire teachers, families and children with the same ‘Real Life’ magic that has inspired her and to offer a fresh, exciting approach to teaching and learning.

The children are shown here dancing and singing for me.

Kids question...How did you learn to talk?

Love hearing the interesting things kids say... Share their response in the comments (include age)

Heres a few  ...

4 yrs: In english

5 yrs: When I was first born I could talk. I could always talk good

9yrs: Well, um, I’m not sure. All I know is that one day I was sitting in the lounge and I said ‘dad’. It’s a hard word to say for a baby because they usually say ‘mum’.
